Is a dog's saliva impure? Can I keep a dog?

“Keeping dogs as pets is not permissible. Keeping dogs causes the angels to stay away from the home and the reward of one's good deeds to decrease. However, if one keeps a dog for a valid reason (e.g. security purposes or as a guide for a blind person), then permission is granted by shariah for one to keep a dog.”

“There is no problem in running a business that sells birds or dogs. However, according to Imaam Shafi Rahimahullah a dog is Najis-ul-Ain (impure in totality), hence in the Shaafiee Mazh-hab just as it is impermissible to sell swine it is impermissible to sell dogs too.”

“In principle, it is permissible to keep a dog, sell dogs & breed dogs for farming, hunting and security purposes. You state “you miss your first dog and willing to get over her for the sake of Allah”.”
