Question

what is your verdict on Davis Gelatine plant in Krugersdorp?

I have read in your previous replies that if gelatine extracted from a pig goes through the correct metamorphic process it becomes halaal, i was under the impression that no part of a pig may be utelised in anyway, is Mufti sahebs previous Fatwas then wrong?

Which certifying body does askimam.org support in South AFrica?

Answer

The gelatine of the Davis Gelatine plant in Krugersdorp does not undergo a metamorphosis as required in Shari’ah for it to be regarded as Halaal.
