I would like to know if I am allowed to play video games if mute my TV so no music is heard.

Question

I would like to know if I am allowed to play video games if mute my TV so no music is heard. I know these games have animate object, but what about animate object that are not real, (monsters, etc.) like Pokemon games.

JazakALLAH.

Answer

Playing of such video games is prohibited as it is a waste of time and money. Islam does not accommodate such futile games of amusement.
