Question

During Ramadan I did not fast because there was no food in the house for me to have suhoor or even break my iftar so I was windering if I had to make up those days or not?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We are unable to easily comprehend why you would not have any food at all during suhur and iftar for the entire month of Ramadan.

If you did not fast, when and how did you eat? Could that food not be reserved for Suhur and Iftar?

Furthermore , not having food at all is not then the reason to fast. You may explain your circumstances to us in order to easily comprehend your situation.

Nevertheless, if you did not fast in Ramadan, you should make qada (make up) for all missed fasts.

We understand you are 17 years old and you do not have a job. We make dua Allah grant you barakah in all your worldly endeavours and your Iman.Aameen.
