Is it permissible to do laser hair removal below the navel?
Question
I want to go for laser hair removal under my belly. It will done by a male. The portion is below the navel but not my pubic hair. Also my private parts will not be viaible to the doctor. Is it permissible

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is impermissible for one to undergo laser hair removal below the navel as the ‘awrah will be exposed during the procedure. The ‘awrah of men is below the navel until the knees.
Alternatives will have to be explored.

(و) الرابع (ستر عورته) ووجوبه عام ولو في الخلوة على الصحيح إلا لغرض صحيح... (وهي للرجل ما تحت سرته إلى ما تحت ركبته)
(قوله ووجوبه عام) أي في الصلاة وخارجها (قوله ولو في الخلوة) أي إذا كان خارج الصلاة يجب الستر بحضرة الناس إجماعا وفي الخلوة على الصحيح..... (قوله إلا لغرض صحيح) كتغوط واستنجاء. وحكى في القنية أقوالا إلا في تجرده للاغتسال منفردا: منها أنه يكره، ومنه أنه يعذر إن شاء الله، ومنها لا بأس به، ومنها يجوز في المدة اليسيرة، ومنها يجوز في بيت الحمام الصغير... (قوله ما تحت سرته) هو ما تحت الخط الذي يمر بالسرة ويدور على محيط بدنه بحيث يكون بعده عن مواقعه في جميع جوانبه على السواء، كذا في البرجندي. اهـ. إسماعيل؛ فالسرة ليست من العورة درر.
