Bowing down to elders

Question

Mufti sahab mera sawal ye hai ke, bado ko jhuker salaam kar sak te hai, sirf adab aur tamiz ke liye, sirf sir ko thoda sa jhuka ker na ke pura jhuker ya petme sir dalkar aur na ruku ki tarha sirf sir ko thoda sa jhukake jaise hum sir ko hilate hai. kya hum karsak te hai.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Aaj kal koi sirf sar nahe hilata hay kamr ke sath jukhtey hein is liye bado ke samne jhukna jaiz nahe hay.[1]

وفي العمادية ويكره الانحناء لأنه يشبه فعل المجوس
