United States is not a good place to raise a child, I am afraid, very afraid that I won’t get a pious wife. Is this a good reason not to get married?

Question

I believe, (I don?t see any good example around me) United States is not a good place to raise a child, if I get married I only can suggest, advice my wife toward the path of Islam not too much more than that. I am afraid, very afraid that I won?t get a pious wife. Is this a good reason not to get married? I am not too exited to start a family of my own, I know this kind of thinking is not correct, but am I committing any major sin?

Answer

1. It is Sunnah to get married. However, if you feel that you may fall into sin or you are overcome by excessive lust and passion, it then becomes Waajib (necessary) for you to marry.

2. There are many pious women throughout the world. Look around for one and, Insha Allah, you will find one pleasing to you.
