A Masbooq Reciting Durood In The Last Qa’dah Behind The Imaam

Question

If a masbooq recites Durood in the last Qadah due to not knowing the ruling, will his Salah be invalid?

Answer

We understand from your query that you are referring to the scenario wherein a Masbooq is sitting behind the Imaam in the last Qa’dah of the Imaam, after which the Masbooq will stand up to complete the Rak’at/s he missed.

In this scenario, it is best that the Masbooq only recites the Tashahhud in a slow manner, so that he finishes the Tashahhud when the Imaam makes Salaam. He should not recite Durood Shareef or the Dua after Durood Shareef.

Notwithstanding the above, if he does recite Durood Shareef or the Dua after Durood Shareef in this scenario, Sajdah Sahw will not be necessary.

وَأَطْلَقَ الْمُصَنِّفُ التَّشَهدَ وَالصَّلَاةَ فَشَمِلَ الْمَسْبُوقَ وَلَا خِلَافَ أَنَّهُ فِي التَّشَهُدِ كَغَيْرِهِ وَأَمَّا فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَالدُّعَاءِ فَاخْتَلَفُوا عَلَى أَرْبَعَةِ أَقْوَالِ اخْتَارَ ابْنُ شُجَاعٍ تَكْرَارَ التَّشَهُدِ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ الرَّازِيَ السُّكُوتَ وَصَحَّحَ قَاضِي خَانْ فِي فَتَاوِيهِ أَنَّهُ يَتَرَسَّلُ فِي التَّشَهُدِ حَتَّى يَفْرُغَ مِنْهُ عِنْدَ سَلَامِ الْإِمَامِ، وَصَحَّحَ صَاحِبُ الْمَبْسُوطِ أَنَّهُ يَأْتِي بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالدُّعَاءِ مُتَابَعَةً لِلْإِمَامِ؛ لِأَنَّ الْمُصَلِّيَ لَا يَشْتَغِلُ بِالدُّعَاءِ فِي خِلَالِ الصَّلَاةِ لِمَا فِيهِ مِنْ تَأْخِيرِ الْأَرْكَانِ وَهَذَا الْمَعْنَى لَا يُوجَدُ هُنَا؛ لِأَنَّهُ لَا يُمْكِنُهُ أَنْ يَقُومَ قَبْلَ سَلَامِ الْإِمَامِ وَيَنْبَغِي الْإِفْتَاءُ بِمَا فِي الْفَتَاوَى كَمَا لَا يَخْفَى

فإن جلس في آخر الصلاة جلس مفترشاً أيضاً (كما) جلس (في) القعدة (الأولى وتشهد أيضا وصلى على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم) ولو مسبوقاً كما

رجحه في المبسوط؛ لكن رجح قاضيخان أنه يترسل في التشهد قال في البحر : وينبغي الإفتاء به (اللباب ج ۱ ص ۷۳) الزِّيَادَةَ عَلَى التَّشَهُدِ فِي الْقُعُودِ الْأَوَّلِ غَيْرُ مَشْرُوعَةٍ كَمَا مَرَّ ؛ فَلَا يَأْتِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالدُّعَاءِ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَلْزَمْ تَأْخِيرُ الْقِيَامِ عَنْ مَحَلِهِ، إِذْ الْقُعُودُ وَاجِبٌ عَلَيْهِ مُتَابَعَةً لِإِمَامِهِ (قَوْلُهُ فَيَتَرَسَّلُ) أَيْ يَتَمَهَّلُ، وَهَذَا مَا صَحَّحَهُ فِي الْخَانِيَّةِ وَشَرْحِ الْمُنْيَةِ فِي بَحْثِ الْمَسْبُوقُ مِنْ بَابِ السَّهْوِ وَبَاقِي الْأَقْوَالِ مُصَحَّحٌ أَيْضًا. قَالَ فِي الْبَحْرِ وَيَنْبَغِي الْإِفْتَاءُ بِمَا فِي الْخَانِيَّةِ كَمَا لَا يَخْفَى، وَلَعَلَّ وَجْهَهُ كَمَا فِي النَّهْرِ أَنَّهُ يَقْضِي آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ فِي حَقِّ التَّشَهُدِ وَيَأْتِي فِيهِ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالدُّعَاءِ، وَهَذَا لَيْسَ آخرًا
