Question

Is it permissible for women to wear all forms of imitation jewellery?

Answer

With the exception of a ring, a woman may wear jewellery made from any substance. Hence, she will be allowed to wear necklaces, bangles, etc that fall under the category of imitation jewellery. As far as a ring is concerned, she may only wear a ring which is made from gold or silver.

سوال: نائیلون پلاسٹک اور کانچ کی چوڑیوں کا استعمال عورتوں کے لئے کیسا ہے؟ الجواب حامدا ومصلیا : درست ہے۔ فقط واللہ سنحانہ وتعالی اعلم (فتاوی محمودیہ ۲۸/۳۱)

ولا بأس للنساء بتعليق الخرز في شعورهن من صفر أو نحاس أو شبة أو حديد ونحوها للزينة والسوار منها (الفتاوى الهندية 5/359 دار النوادر)

(وأما) التختم بما سوى الذهب والفضة من الحديد والنحاس والصفر فمكروه للرجال والنساء جميعا لأنه زي أهل النار لما روينا من الحديث. (بدائع الصنائع ٥/١٣٣) وفي الجوهرة والتختم بالحديد والصفر والنحاس والرصاص مكروه للرجل والنساء (رد المحتار ٦/٣٥٩، سعيد)
