Can the property be used for an Islamic school?
Published as Using Waqf property for an Islamic school
Question
A property was given as Waqf for Madrasah use. Can the property be used for an Islamic school?
Answer
If the property was donated (made Waqf) for Madrasah use only, then it cannot be passed over for the use of the Islamic school. Yes, it may be let out to them at a market-related rental. The trustees should refer to the trust deed for clarification on the issue.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
