Using a “student’s card” to qualify for discounted fare

Question

I live in Turkey where students pay half-fare for transport. I am not a university student but currently studying certain subjects. I don’t have a student’s transportation card but my husband has one. Am I permitted to use his card at times to qualify for the discounted fare?

Answer

If the concession is afforded only to particular students such as university students, then you will not qualify for the discount if you are not a university student, even though you may be studying certain subjects elsewhere. Yes, your husband will qualify for the discount since he is a student of the university, as we understand from your query. In conclusion, it will not be correct for you to utilize his card to receive the student discount.
