Income derived from sports facilities

In the queried scenario, the sports ground is not let out to individuals to engage in impermissible or Haraam activities hence, the income will not be considered as Haraam. However, it is known that the sports players will dress inappropriately whereby their Satr will be exposed, intermingling of sexes will take place, youngsters will play music whilst engaging in matches, etc. as these are common practices in most of the sport stadiums. Hence, due to such impermissible activities being perpetrated by the players, the trustees or owners are assisting in the disobedience of Allah Ta’ala, thus the income accrued from the sporting facility will be categorized as Makrooh. Also, the Quraan Sharif states, “And do not assist in sin and transgression.” [Surah Maa’idah, Verse 2]
