Do I repeat the Salaah as Qadha now?

Question

I accidentally recited a Dua before Tashahud. A few days have passed and I didn’t make the Sajda-e-Sahw in my Salaah at that time, nor did I make Qadha of that Salaah. Do I repeat the Salaah as Qadha now?

Answer

The recitation of another Dua in place of Tashhahud necessitates Sajda-e-Sahw. If the Sajda-e-Sahw was not performed, then the Salaah should be repeated during the time of the Salaah. If the Salaah was not repeated during the time, then repeating the Salaah after the time is Mustahab. In other words, it is preferable that the Salaah is repeated later, but not necessary.

وجوب الإعادة في أداء الصلاة مع كراهة التحريم بما قبل خروج الوقت، أما بعده فتستحب وسيأتي الكلام فيه هناك إن شاء الله تعالى مع بيان الاختلاف في وجوب الإعادة وعدمه، وترجيح القول بالوجوب في الوقت وبعده (الدر المختار و حاشية ابن عابدين 1/457)

وإذا قرأ الفاتحة مكان التشهد فعليه السهو وكذلك إذا قرأ الفاتحة ثم التشهد كان عليه السهو، كذا روي عن أبي حنيفة – رحمه الله – في الواقعات الناطفية وذكر هناك إذا بدأ في موضع التشهد بالقراءة ثم تشهد فعليه السهو(الفتاوى الهندية 1/127)

فصل في واجب الصلاة… و يجب قراءة التشهد فيه أي في الأول وقوله في الصحيح متعلق بكل من القعود وتشهده وهو احتراز عن القول بسنتهما أو سنية التشهد وحده للمواظبة و يجب قراءته أي: التشهد في الجلوس الأخير أيضا للمواظبة (مراقي الفلاح ص94)
