Ladies gathering for Ta’leem

In principle, to acquire the knowledge of Deen is incumbent on both men and women.

It is best that women acquire the knowledge of Deen within the confines of their home from their Mahaarim. However, if this is not possible, then it will be permissible for women to attend the weekly ladies’ programme to acquire the relevant knowledge of Deen with the proviso that they are completely covered in Hijaab, they do not use any perfume or itr when emerging from the home, nor do they adorn themselves with attractive clothing, etc. It is proven that during the era of Nabi Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, women would gather in one place and the master Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam would address them.

Furthermore, women who are gathering at the house should do so to the extent of necessity. It is best that they are dropped off at the Taleem venue by a Mahram and picked up by a Mahram immediately after the Taleem, as we are living in a time of Fitnah. The command of Allah Ta’ala for women is to remain within their homes and emerge due to necessity.

Allah Ta’ala mentions in the Quraan Majeed:

“And remain within your houses.”
