Incomplete Ghusl Due to Secretion From the Eye

Question

After performing Ghusl, I prayed Salaah, and after a while, I noticed a secretion from the eye less than the area of a coin in size. I didn’t wash it with water. Is the Ghusl valid? Does the Salaah have to be repeated?

Answer

We assume that your query is regarding the sleep crust that collects in the corner of the eyes. The Fuqaha have stated that to wash the corner of the eyes (the part that is attached to the nose) is necessary. Hence, if water did not reach the corner of the eye, then that part should be washed and the Salaah should be repeated. To repeat the entire Ghusl is not necessary.
