Question

Are females permitted to perform Jumu’ah Salaah behind the Imaam of Haram Sharif?

Answer

The Fuqaha (Jurists) state that Jumu’ah is not Waajib on women. They should rather perform Zuhr. However, if a woman comes to the Haram and performs Jumu’ah Salaah with Jamaat, then it will absolve her from performing Zuhr, on condition the Imaam made intention for making Imaamat of the women as well.

N.B. It is more meritorious for women to perform their Salaah at the hotel.

عن طارق بن شهاب عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : الجمعة حق واجب على كل مسلم في جماعة إلا على أربعة: عبد مملوك أو امرأة، أو صبي. (سنن أبي داؤد رقم: ١٠٦٧)

حتى لا تجب الجمعة على العبيد والنسوان. (الفتاوى الهندية ١٤٤/١)

عن عبد الله يعني ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال: ماكان لنا عيد إلا في صدر النهار، ولقد رأيتنا نجمع مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في ظل الحطيم.

ولا تجب الجمعة على مسافر ولا امرأة ولا مريض ولا صبي ولا عبد ولا أعمى فإن حضروا وصلوا مع الناس أجزأهم عن فرض الوقت لأنهم تحملون فصاروا كالمسافر إذا صام. (هداية مع الفتح ٦٢/٢)

ومن لا جمعة عليه إن أدى جاز عن فرض الوقت الخ. كنز : من كان أهلا للوجوب كالمريض والمسافر والمرأة يجزئهم، ويسقط عنهم الظهر الخ. (البحر الرائق ٢٦٤/٢)

کیا عورت پر بھی جمعہ فرض ہے؟

سوال (۱۰۱۷):- کیا فرماتے ہیں علماء دین ومفتیانِ شرع متین مسئلہ ذیل کے بارے میں کہ عورت جمعہ کی نماز پڑھ سکتی ہے یا نہیں، یا ظہر کی نماز پڑھے گی ؟

باسمہ سبحانہ تعالیٰ

الجواب وبالله التوفیق: عورتوں پر جمعہ فرض نہیں ہیں وہ ظہر کی نماز ادا کریں گی۔
