Question

Did Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam consume seafood?

Answer

It is recorded in Sahih al-Bukhari that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam partook of a type of huge fish that Allah made available to the Sahabah when they went out on an expedition. (Sahih al-Bukhari)

This denotes that Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) did consume seafood.

.عن جابر – رضى الله عنه – يقول غزونا جيش الخبط وأمر أبو عبيدة ، فجعنا جوعا شديدا فألقى البحر حوتا ميتا ، لم نر مثله ، يقال له العنبر ، فأكلنا منه نصف شهر ، فأخذ أبو عبيدة عظما من عظامه فمر الراكب تحته . فأخبرنى أبو الزبير أنه سمع جابرا يقول قال أبو عبيدة كلوا . فلما قدمنا المدينة ذكرنا ذلك للنبى – صلى الله عليه وسلم – فقال « كلوا رزقا أخرجه الله ، أطعمونا إن كان معكم » . فأتاه بعضهم { بعضو } فأكله
