Sajda Sahw (1/2)
Question
I received the question and answer from the Jamiat about Sajdah Sahw yesterday. I learn something new every day from this service. Can you tell me how to do Sajdah Sahw?
Answer
The method of performing Sajdatus Sahw is as follows:
You will complete your Salaah as normal upto the first Salaam. After making Salaam to the right, do not turn to the left to make the second Salaam; and instead, perform two Sajdahs and sit in Qa’dah (the position of Tashahhud). Thereafter, you will recite the Tashahhud, Salawaat, Dua before Salaam and then terminate the Salaah as normal with two Salaams (to the right and left). This is the procedure of Sajdatus Sahw. “The preferred view in the Hanafi Madhab is that Sajdah Sahw should be performed after making a one-sided Salaam. After performing the two Sajdahs of Sajdah Sahw, one will recite Tashahud, Durood Ibraheem and the Dua after…”
