Is Sharia regarding image making binding on all, or only on the Muslim community?

Question

Is Sharia regarding image making binding on all, or only on the Muslim community? Is there a difference between Sunni schools of law and Shiʿa schools of law on images?

Answer

Images of animate objects are haraam, taking them or keeping them.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
