Zakaat on a plot of land

Question

If a person buys a plot, will Zakaat be compulsory on it or not?

Answer

If he purchased the plot of land with the intention of resale, then only zakaat will be compulsory upon it.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
