Question

A woman aged 53 had sex with her husband and separated on the same day, had menses after one month and still did not meet her husband. She experiences her menses after 3 to 4 months. She is going through menopause, what will be her iddat? Your reply was that if she experiences regular menses she will have to observe iddat for three menses. I understand that if she is not experiencing regular menses then she does not need to observe iddat. Am I correct?

Answer

She should wait for two more haidh.

If the colour of the bleeding after menopause is her normal blood colour then it will still be counted as haidh.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
