Was Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) a descendant of Hazrat Ismail or Hazrat Ishaaq (Alayhimus Salaam)

Question

I just wanted to know if Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) was a descendant of Ismaeel or Ishaaq or somebody else. Please provide proofs/verses from Qur'an or Hadith. Other form of evidence will be helpful.

Answer

He was a descendant of Ismaeel (alaihis salaam).

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
