Is it permissible to leave the tap open whilst doing wudhu in the masjid?

Question

Is it permissible to leave the tap open whilst doing wudhu in the masjid? i.e During masah of head and washing face.

Answer

To avoid wasting water, close the tap.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
