Is keeping a beard the sunnah way is sunnah or farz?

Question

1. If someone keeps the beard not as sunnah but like fashion which could be french, will he be committing sin?

2. Is keeping a beard the sunnah way is sunnah or farz?

Answer

1. Adopting the ways of kuffaar is a severe wrong. The hadeeth warns us that the person who imitates a people will be counted from amongst them.

2. It is compulsory.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
