Question

My friend's husband sent her a divorce letter from union porishod from Bangladesh to America. But both of them were living in America at that time. Are they divorced now?

Answer

If the husband had wrote out the talaaq, the talaaq is valid.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Q: No, the husband didn't write down anything because he can't read or write Bangla. But the divorce papers has his signature. In that case what they should think?

A: If he signed the divorce papers, the divorce is valid.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
