Taking pictures of the deceased and sharing it with family who cannot attend
Question
What does Islam say about taking pictures of someone who has passed away. For example, if someone has passed away in another country and the family can't attend the funeral, is it permissible to take pictures of the person who has passed away and/or the funeral to share with only the family of the deceased?
Answer
It is impermissible.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.

Are photographs and taking pictures permissible?
“This is not permissible. Through you building a social media app where users will post pictures of animate objects, you will be involved in the sin of photography as well as inviting others to commit this grave sin.”
