Question

I have an elder sister and she is at the age of marriage. She got a proposal and the boy is good in all conditions but he wants his wife to wear abaya while my sister does not want to wear abaya. The boy's family said that abaya is necessary or else they will cancel the proposal. What should we do? Should we force our sister to wear abaya?

Answer

The abaya is a compulsory dress. It is not an optional thing. Whether she is getting into marriage or not she must don an abaya.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
