Question

Should the Muazzin turn his head to the right and left when saying the Iqaamah?

Answer

There are three opinions in this mas'alah:

The first opinion is that the Muazzin will not turn his head to the right and left in the Iqaamah.

The second opinion is that if the area where the Salaah is being performed is a big area, then the Muazzin should turn his head to the right and left at the time of saying حي على الصلوة and حي على الفلاح

The third opinion is that the Muazzin should turn his head to the right and left regardless of whether the area is big or small.

It is permissible for one to act upon any of the above three opinions in the Hanafi Mazhab.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
