Is it permissible to write a poem for a person who dies?

Question

Is it permissible to write a poem for a person who dies? A scholar died recently and poems are published to remember and grieve for the loss. Is it allowed to do such things in Islam.

Answer

As long as there is no exaggeration and lies.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
