What is the crieteria of help?

Question

I know that if a Muslim helps a non Muslim against Muslims, he leaves the fold of Islam. What is the crieteria of help? For example if I have a non Muslim friend and I talk to her about a Muslim which may lead to physical or mental harm or loss of rights to the said Muslim, will that be kufr too? I used to daily think that this applied in case of war/weaponry only.

Answer

This is not clear disbelief, but it is not showing the spirit of allegiance and respect for them. It is a betrayal to Muslims, and betrayal can eventually lead you out of the fold of Islam.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
