Petrol attendant filling more fuel than requested

Question

I requested R300 fuel at a filling station, but the attendant filled R370 in error. Am I obligated to pay the extra R70? The manager informed me that the attendant is liable. Is this correct? What about the extra fuel in my tank?

Answer

You should ask them to drain the extra fuel from your petrol tank. If you keep the extra petrol, you should pay for it.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
