Removing the moustache

Question

Is it necessary to keep the moustache or is it permissible to shave the moustache off and keep the upper lip clean as I am aware that when you grow a moustache it should not overlap the lip line.

Answer

It is better to remove the moustache, but if someone keeps a thin moustache then it is permissible provided it does not overlap the lips.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
