Question

If a person says to Allah,’I will do this’ or ‘I will do that’. But the person did not use the word ‘promise’ ‘oath’ or ‘vow’. That means he/she did not promise that to Allah. Now if he/she does not do that action, will he/she be sinning?

Answer

This is like a promise.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
