Will a civil divorce affect nikaah?

Question

I will be looking to get a second wife from Pakistan. The thing is that I want to dissolve my legal marriage in Canada. My wife is aware of me getting my second marriage. If I file for a civil divorce will it affect my Shari nikaah in any way?

Answer

Yes.
