Sitting and performing nafl salaah

· 25 Safar 1440 AH1 min readEnglish

Question

Is it permissible to sit and pray nafl salah even if one is physically fit. I see lot of people who are doing hard physically challenging work but when it comes to prayer, they sit and offer the sunnah prayers in dhuhur maghrib and eesha.

Answer

It is permissible for one who is physically well to perform nafil salaah while seated on the ground. However, one will receive half the reward of the nafil salaah performed while standing.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
