Forgetting to recite a surah in the 3rd rakaat of sunnah salaah
Question
If in salaah I did not recite a surah in the 3rd rakaat of the 4 Sunnah, do I make an extra rakaat as qadah?
Answer
You should make sajdah sahw at the end of the salaah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

(ثم واجبات الصلاة أنواع) (منها) قراءة الفاتحة والسورة إذا ترك الفاتحة في الأوليين أو إحداهما يلزمه السهو وإن قرأ أكثر الفاتحة ونسي الباقي لا سهو عليه وإن بقي الأكثر كان عليه السهو إماما كان أو منفردا، كذا في فتاوى قاضي خان. وإن تركها في الأخريين لا يجب إن كان في الفرض وإن كان في النفل أو الوتر وجب عليه، كذا في البحر الرائق (الفتاوى الهندية 1/126)
