Why did Yusuf (Alayhis Salaam) hold back his brother bin Yamin
Question
Reading the story of Yusuf (Alayhis Salaam) could it please be explained why did Yusuf (Alayhis Salaam) hold back his brother bin Yamin after his brothers promised to bring him back to their father & also explaining this to Yusuf (Alayhis Salaam)?
Answer
According to the tafseers Yusuf (alaihis salaam) was instructed by Allah Ta`ala to carry out this plan. (Surah Yusuf, Verse 76)
