Revoking the talaaq during the iddah period
Question
If a man gave talaq to his wife and they reconcile during the iddah period, does the talaq fall away? I was told by one Moulana that if they reconcile during the iddah period, the talaq falls away. Its called extreme compassion from shariah.
Answer
If he has given one or two raj`ee talaaqs (revocable) then the divorce will fall away.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
