Making dua to marry a certain person

Question

I wish to marry a certain man, we are in no haram relationship. However I wanted to ask, as Muslims, are we able to pray to marry this certain person or is who we marry written and will no longer change? So what I’m trying to ask is can dua change who we marry?

Answer

You rather just make dua that Allah Ta`ala grants you a good partner.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
