Aqeeqah for a baby girl

Question

How must aqeeqah for a baby girl be done and how must the meat be given out?

Is it permissible for the parents to eat the aqeeqa meat?

Answer

One sheep or goat will be slaughtered as aqeeqah for a girl.

One can use the meat however one wishes to.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
