Unintentionally purchasing a heart shaped doughnut on Valentine's day

· 5 Rajab 1441 AH1 min readEnglish

Question

I bought a donut from Dunkin Donuts because I was hungry and it ended up being heart shaped because of Valentine’s Day. I do not celebrate Valentine days and did not know that it would be heart shaped. I was not sure if I should return the doughnut but did not want to waste food so I ate it. Did I commit kufr or a sin ?

Answer

No. You did not commit kufr.

In the future, refrain from purchasing things that are associated with the kuffaar customs and traditions during the time of their celebrations. As a precaution, you should make istighfaar and give the value of the doughnut in sadaqah.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
