Sunnah surahs to recite in salaah
Question
I have often heard that Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was fond of certain Surahs or Quraanic verses that he would often recite in Salaah. Please provide guidance on the namaaz/rakahs and surahs for:
1. Fajr
2. Zohr
3. Asr
4. Maghrib
5. Esha
Answer
The surahs that are prescribed for the salaahs are as follows:
Fajr and Zuhr - Tiwaal-e-Mufassal = the surahs from Surah Hujuraat till Surah Inshiqaaq.
Asr and Esha - Awsaat-e-Mufassal = the surahs from Surah Burooj till Surah Qadr.
Maghrib - Qisaar-e-Mufassal = the surahs from Surah Bayyinah till Surah Naas
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
