Repentance and obedience to parents
Question
I want to ask that in these days how can I repent to Allah almighty and how can I return to him? Also I disobey my mother and pray on and off not regularly, so how can I obey my mother and pray regurarly and read the Holy Quran?
Answer
Sincerely repent to Allah Ta’ala for all your past and present sins and make a firm resolve that you will not return to those sins in the future. Ensure that you remain in pious company at all times and abstain from wrong company and all devices or avenues that may tempt you towards sin.
Commence performing your five daily salaah with jamaat on their prescribed times and start making up for all the missed salaah. Besides salaah, if you have any outstanding rights ( eg missed fast, zakaat,) which you owe to Allah Ta’ala or the creation, then you should fulfil all these rights.
Ask your mother for forgiveness and serve her to the best of your ability with love and kindness. Reserve some time daily to recite the Quraan Shareef, engage in zikr and make istigfaar. Similarly, make daily ta'leem of the Fazaail e aamaal and Fazaail e sadaqaat with your family . May Allah Ta’ala accept your tawba and bless you with the tawfeeq of reforming your life.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
