Question

If a wife's intention is to marry a man simply for dowry and then divorcing the man, in Allah's eyes is this a punishable act and does the entire dowry need to be paid. Also if she had been having an affair, does dowry need to be paid? How is a man compensated?

Answer

Talaaq is the right of the husband. The wife does not have the ability to divorce.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
