Status of nikaah if a man lied to a girl just to get married to her
Question
If a woman marries a man based on what he told her and later on she finds out that the man was untruthful, meaning he lied about everything just to get her to marry him. Is the nikaah invalid? Especially if he lied about being a practising Muslim which it turned out that he wasn't? Does she need to do iddat even if she only stayed with him for a week and she didn't engage in intercourse because she was on her period with this untruthful man?
Answer
All premarital relationships are impermissible in Islam. You should sincerely repent to Allah Ta'ala for the sin you have committed. However, despite the fact that he lied to you, since you accepted the nikaah, the nikaah is valid.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
