Wife refusing to have more children

Question

I got married in December 2018 and I have a baby son now. My wife doesn't want more kids but I want more kids. Please tell me in light of Quran and Hadith what should I do? What are my rights?

Answer

She does not have the right to refuse. However, if she has a valid excuse (e.g. she does not want to conceive too soon after the first child due to health reasons or due to the fear of not being able to manage taking care of both children), then you should be considerate to her.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
