Giving a diamond ring for mahr

Question

If a gold ring which contains diamonds is to be given as mahr, will the amount of mahr mentioned be the value of the entire ring or just the value of the gold of the ring?

Answer

The value of the whole ring with the diamond should be given.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
