Differentiating between mazi and mani

Question

Is there a way to differentiate between mazi and mani when I find a stain on my clothing after awaking from sleep?

Answer

The Ulama state that if you get up and you cannot differentiate between the both then it is compulsory to take a bath. Both are impure. It is difficult to identify whether it is mani or mazi after it has come onto the clothing. Furthermore, mazi is normally thin while mani is thick.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
