Making salaam after two rakaats of a four rakaat sunnah salaah when jamaat salaah commences
Question
If I make niyat of 4 rakaat sunnah salaah and the imaam starts jamaat salaah, can I make salaam after two rakats to join the jamaat salaah and make the remaining two rakaats after the jamaat salaah?
Answer
It is permissible for you to make salaam after two rakaats and join the jamaat salaah. However, you will have to repeat your entire four rakaat sunnah salaah after your fardh salaah.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
