Pre marital relationship
Question
I have been speaking to a girl online and we have tried to stop speaking many times and I totally regret the sin and wanted to conceal it so I didn’t tell anyone but it gets difficult because we find ourselves falling back into the sin and we want to get married. The only thing stopping is my parents so I told my parents about the situation even though I never wanted anyone to know because I wanted to conceal my sin, thinking they would assist me into getting married. However my parents have still not given me an answer and they think I’m too immature to get married and that I don't read all my Salaahs which I try my very best to perform all the time and the girl has accepted me the way I am. Can Mufti Saab please advise me.
Answer
You should make sincere taubah for getting involved in this haraam relationship with this girl. All pre-marital relationships are haraam in Islam and earn the curse of Allah Ta'ala. Nevertheless, if you wish to marry her, then consult with her parents.
It should be borne in mind that when a person has the urge to get married and he is falling into sin, then nikaah is fardh (compulsory) upon him. To fulfil a fardh, he does not require the permission of his parents or anyone else. If your parents are not showing interest in your nikaah, then get some of the seniors of your family to speak to them and explain to them the situation.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Where scholars differ, it’s safer to take the more cautious view.
